Stock takes let you verify actual quantities against system records and automatically create adjustments for discrepancies.

Stock Take Workflow

Draft → In Progress (counting) → Completed (adjustments applied)
                                → Cancelled

Creating a Stock Take

  1. Navigate to Stock Takes → Create.
  2. Select the location to count.
  3. Choose the scope:
    • Full — count all products at this location
    • Category — count all products in a specific category
  4. Set the count date.
  5. Enable Blind Count mode if you want counters to not see system quantities (prevents bias).
  6. Click Create.

The system automatically populates items from current stock levels at the selected location.

Counting

  1. Open the stock take and click Count.
  2. For each item, enter the counted quantity (what you physically counted).
  3. Optionally add a reason code for items with variance.
  4. Click Save Counts.

Completing a Stock Take

  1. Review the variance report on the stock take detail page:
    • System quantity vs. counted quantity
    • Variance quantity and value
    • Items with variance count
  2. When satisfied with all counts, click Complete.
  3. The system automatically creates adjustment movements for all variances.
