Why we exist

The problem was always the same

Across Ghana, capable owners were running their finances on tools never designed for them: spreadsheets that broke at month-end, and foreign accounting software priced in dollars that knew nothing about cedis, GRA VAT or mobile money.

Every quarter brought the same worry at tax time. The tools had not done the work, so owners pieced the numbers together by hand.

The journey

From a gap in the market to a launch

  1. 2024

    The idea

    The SmartQix team identifies a gap: no affordable, Ghana-focused accounting software that handles GRA compliance, MoMo, and GHS natively. Research begins across markets in Accra, Kumasi, and Takoradi.

  2. 2025

    Building sikabooks

    Development begins on Accounting, POS, Inventory, CRM, Restaurant and Pharmacy, built for the Ghanaian market with beta testers giving feedback throughout.

  3. 2026

    Public launch

    sikabooks launches with GRA VAT context and MoMo recording, open to all Ghanaian businesses with pricing designed for local budgets.
