We built SikaBooks because Ghanaian businesses deserved better than spreadsheets and Western tools that do not speak their language.

Why We Exist

The problem was always the same

Across Ghana, smart business owners were managing finances with tools that were never designed for them. Excel spreadsheets that broke at month-end. QuickBooks that did not understand GHS, GRA VAT, or MoMo. Accounting software from the US or UK that required USD pricing and had no concept of how local teams buy, sell, and reconcile.

Every quarter, thousands of Ghanaian businesses faced the same anxiety: tax season. Not because they had done anything wrong, but because their tools had not done the work for them.

We asked ourselves one question:

How we got here

2024
The idea

The SmartQix team identifies a gap: no affordable, Ghana-focused accounting software that handles GRA compliance, MoMo, and GHS natively. We begin research across markets in Accra, Kumasi, and Takoradi.

2025
Building SikaBooks

Development begins. Accounting, POS, Inventory, CRM, Restaurant, and Pharmacy modules built from scratch for the Ghanaian market. Beta testers from 12 businesses provide real-world feedback throughout.

2026
Public launch

SikaBooks launches with 7 business modules, GRA VAT compliance, and MoMo integration. Open to all Ghanaian businesses with pricing designed for local budgets.
