Scheduled Price Sheets let authorized users prepare location-specific selling prices before they affect POS. The base products.selling_price remains the fallback when no released location price applies.

Price Sheet Lifecycle

Draft -> Validate -> Review -> Release -> Scheduled / Effective

  • Draft sheets never affect POS.
  • A released sheet becomes active at 00:00 on its effective business date.
  • POS resolves the active price using the product, register location, and sale date.
  • Sale lines retain their unit-price snapshot, so historical receipts do not change later.

Creating and Loading a Worksheet

  1. Navigate to Pricing -> Price Sheets -> Create.
  2. Enter a clear sheet name and effective date.
  3. Open the draft worksheet and select Add Products.
  4. Filter the catalog by SKU/name, category, product type, one or more locations, and stock state.
  5. Preview candidates and add selected or filtered products. Multiple locations create one row per product/location pair.
  6. Review the old active price. New price defaults to the old price so only intended changes need editing.

The catalog loader skips duplicate product/location rows and limits one add request to 1,000 product-location combinations. Narrow the filters when the result exceeds that limit.

Excel-Like Editing and CSV Import

The draft worksheet supports inline editing and multi-row paste from Excel or Google Sheets. Editable values are SKU, location code, and new selling price. Product name, resolved location, old price, difference, status, and errors are calculated by the server.

Use Import CSV for offline or larger workflows. Required columns are:

Column Meaning
sku Existing product SKU
location_code Existing Inventory location code
new_selling_price New location selling price

Unknown SKUs, unknown locations, invalid prices, zero prices, and duplicate product/location rows remain visible as row-level validation errors until corrected.

Validating and Releasing

  1. Save draft changes.
  2. Select Validate and resolve every row error.
  3. Open Review to compare old price, new price, and difference.
  4. Confirm the effective date is not in the past.
  5. Select Release and confirm the action.

Release creates the effective-dated location price ledger. A future price automatically closes the prior open price on the day before the new effective date. Release does not rewrite the product's base selling price.

Deleting or Canceling

  • Draft sheets can be deleted with their worksheet rows.
  • Future released sheets can be canceled. Their sourced ledger rows are removed and the previous price window is repaired.
  • A released sheet effective today or in the past cannot be deleted or canceled because its pricing has already become operational history.
  • Canceled sheets stay visible and read-only for audit.

Use Upcoming Price Changes to review released future prices by date and location before they activate.
