Where to find it: Sidebar > General Ledger > Journal Entries
11.1 Understanding Double-Entry
Every posted entry must balance: total debits must equal total credits.
11.2 Creating a Journal Entry
- Go to General Ledger > Journal Entries
- Click New Entry
- Set the date and description
- Optionally assign Tags for reusable classification
- Add at least two lines
- Make sure debits equal credits
- Save as draft or post
11.3 Posting a Journal Entry
A posted entry:
- Receives an entry number
- Hits the ledger immediately
- Cannot be edited in place
11.4 Reversing a Journal Entry
Use Reverse on a posted journal instead of editing it directly.
11.5 Editing and Deleting Drafts
Draft journals can be edited or deleted until posted.
11.6 Approval for Journal Entries
If a journal approval workflow applies, the entry must move through approval before final posting.
