Configure Pharmacy module behaviour and compliance rules.
7.1 Accessing Settings
- Go to Sidebar > Administration > Pharmacy Settings
7.2 Prescription Settings
- Require Prescription for Class A — Block sale of Class A drugs without a valid prescription (default: on)
- Default Refill Limit — Number of refills allowed per new prescription (default: 3)
7.3 Safety Controls
- Allow Emergency Override — Permit supervisor-approved overrides when validation fails (default: on). All overrides are logged.
- Expired Drug Sale Blocked — Prevent sale of expired drugs entirely (default: on)
- Near-Expiry Warning Days — Number of days before expiry to show warnings (default: 90)
- Controlled Substance Quantity Limit — Maximum quantity per dispensing for controlled drugs
7.4 Staffing Requirements
- Require Pharmacist for Controlled Substances — Only pharmacist-role POS users can dispense Class A Part II drugs (default: on)
- Pharmacy License Number — Your pharmacy's license number for receipts and reports
- Supervising Pharmacist Name — Name of the responsible pharmacist
7.5 Record Keeping
- Dangerous Drugs Record Enabled — Maintain a dangerous drugs register for Class A & B (default: on)
- Dispensing Log Retention Years — How long to keep dispensing records (default: 6 years)
7.6 Drug Catalog Import
Two options for bulk-populating the drug catalog:
Ghana National Formulary:
- Click Populate Ghana Drugs
- The system imports standard Ghana drugs with correct schedules and categories
- Each drug is linked to an existing or new Inventory product
FDA Register CSV:
- Click Import FDA Register
- Upload a CSV file from the Ghana FDA drug register
- The system creates drug entries with FDA registration numbers
Both import methods skip duplicates and report created, skipped, and failed counts.
