Products

Products are the core of your inventory. Each product represents an item you track, buy, or sell.

Product Types

Type	Description	Tracking
Goods	Physical items you stock and sell	Full inventory tracking available

Non-Inventory	Items you buy/sell but do not track stock for	No inventory tracking

Creating a Product

1. Navigate to Products → Create.
2. Enter the product name and optionally a SKU (auto-generated if enabled in settings).
3. Select a category and unit of measure.
4. Set pricing: cost price, selling price, and optionally wholesale and minimum prices.
5. Configure stock rules: reorder point, reorder quantity, minimum and maximum stock levels.
6. Enable tracking options:
   • Track Inventory — enables stock level monitoring
   • Track Batches — enables batch number and expiry date tracking
   • Track Serials — enables individual serial number tracking (Goods only)
7. Link accounting accounts: inventory account, COGS account, and revenue account.
8. Add barcodes (auto-generated if none provided) and suppliers.
9. Upload a product image if desired.
10. Click Save.

You cannot enable both batch and serial tracking on the same product. Serial tracking is only available for Goods-type products and requires inventory tracking to be enabled.

Editing a Product

Navigate to Products → [Product Name] → Edit. Update any fields and save. Note that:

• You cannot enable serial tracking if the product already has stock on hand.
• You cannot disable serial tracking after serials have been created.
• If the Pharmacy module is active, certain product settings are locked (type must be Goods, must be active and sellable, batch and expiry tracking enforced).

Bulk Editing Products

1. Navigate to Products → Bulk Edit.
2. Select up to 100 products to edit inline.
3. Modify fields across products in a spreadsheet-like view.
4. Click Save All — changes are applied in a single transaction (all-or-nothing).

Importing Products

1. Navigate to Products → Import.
2. Download the template CSV file.
3. Fill in the template with your product data: name, SKU, description, type, category, unit, cost price, selling price, and active status.
4. Upload the completed CSV file.
5. Review the import results — successful imports, skipped duplicates, and any errors by line number.

Deleting a Product

You can only delete a product if it has no stock on hand. Navigate to the product detail page and click Delete.

Product Barcodes

Each product can have one or more barcodes. Supported types:

Type	Description
Code128	General-purpose barcode (default, auto-generated)
EAN-13	European Article Number (13 digits)
UPC-A	Universal Product Code (12 digits)
Custom	Any custom barcode format

Use Products → Barcode Lookup to find a product by scanning or entering its barcode.

Product Suppliers

Link one or more suppliers to a product with supplier-specific details:

• Supplier name and SKU
• Supplier price and currency
• Lead time in days
• Minimum order quantity
• Preferred supplier flag
