Human Resources is the people-operations workspace for employee records, contracts, secure documents, leave, onboarding, offboarding, reporting, and employee self-service. HR and Payroll can operate independently while sharing one workforce identity for each employee.
HR remains operational when Payroll is disabled. An HR-only business can manage the workforce, organisation, contracts, documents, leave, workflows, reports, retention, and employee self-service without creating pay profiles or journals. Payroll can be enabled later without creating a second workforce identity.
Start in this order:
- Review HR Settings and the working calendar.
- Create departments and work locations under Organisation.
- Confirm HR roles and permissions in the business team settings.
- Add employees and issue their employment particulars.
- Configure leave approval and invite employees to self-service where appropriate.
The dashboard highlights active employees, pending leave, missing or expiring contracts, active workflows, portal coverage, and items needing attention. KPI cards and attention items open the relevant filtered workspace.
Use the dashboard as a work queue, not as a final report. Resolve urgent contract, leave, portal, Payroll-readiness, and retention exceptions from their source screens. The figures are permission-filtered, so two users may legitimately see different totals.
