Asset cannot be capitalized

Check that cost, capitalization date, useful life, category, and credit account are complete. If Accounting is enabled, also check category account mappings.

Depreciation run has no lines

Confirm assets are capitalized, have useful-life and available-for-use dates, are not held for disposal/disposed, and follow the latest posted period.

QR scan says the code is unknown

Confirm the scanned QR value exactly matches the asset QR code. Matching is exact, not fuzzy.

Variance export is empty

The export includes only missing, damaged, unexpected, and location-mismatch lines. Clean found lines are intentionally excluded.

Accounting journal was not created

Confirm Accounting is enabled for the business and the asset category has the required asset, accumulated depreciation, and expense mappings. If Accounting is disabled, Asset Management records the operational workflow without posting journals.

Camera scanning is unavailable

Confirm the browser supports BarcodeDetector, the site has camera permission, and the page is running over a secure connection. Continue with a keyboard scanner or exact manual QR entry when camera scanning is unavailable.

A user sees the manual but not an Open screen shortcut

The manual is available to module users, while shortcuts reflect the current user's permissions. Ask an owner or role administrator to review the matching asset_management.* permission rather than sharing a direct URL.

A depreciation period cannot be selected

Check the latest posted run, duplicate drafts, the required next month, and Accounting fiscal locks. Runs must remain sequential, and only the latest posted run can be reversed.

A maintenance work order cannot be completed

Complete every required checklist task, verify part quantities and Inventory locations, and confirm that the status transition is valid. Repeated completion attempts do not issue the same Inventory part twice.

An asset cannot be disposed

Confirm the asset is capitalized, has been measured and classified as held for disposal, the disposal date and method are valid, proceeds are complete, and required Accounting gain/loss mappings exist.
