Movement Types

Type Description Effect
Receive Goods received into stock Increases quantity
Sale Goods sold to customer Decreases quantity
Adjustment Manual stock correction Increases or decreases
Transfer Out Stock shipped to another location Decreases at source
Transfer In Stock received from another location Increases at destination
Return Goods returned by customer Increases quantity
Write Off Damaged or lost goods removed Decreases quantity
Opening Balance Initial stock setup Sets starting quantity
Count Adjustment Correction from physical count Adjusts to counted quantity

Viewing Movements

Navigate to Stock Movements to see the complete audit log. Each entry shows:

  • Movement date and type
  • Product and location
  • Quantity (positive for increases, negative for decreases)
  • Unit cost and total cost
  • Balance after movement
  • Average cost after movement
  • Reference (e.g., transfer number, stock take number)
  • User who created the movement

Filtering

  • Type filter — view only specific movement types
  • Location filter — movements at a specific location
  • Date range — movements within a period
  • Product search — movements for a specific product
