Install the app
Open the SikaBooks app page on your phone and follow the link to the App Store or Google Play. The app needs iOS 15 or later, or Android 7 or later. There are no purchases in the app; creating a business and managing billing stay on the website.
Sign in with your existing account
Use the same email address and password you use on the website. If your account uses two-factor authentication (2FA), enter your 2FA code when asked. New team members must accept their invitation first; employees must activate their employee portal before signing in.
Switch business and check your access
Use the app's business switcher to choose another business you have access to. Check the business name before creating an invoice, recording a payment or answering an approval.
Owners and team members see only the modules and actions their role permits. Employees using the staff portal see their own payslips, leave, documents, contracts and HR tasks. Employee portal access does not give access to the company's books. A person who has both kinds of access must choose the appropriate business or employee portal context.
Use the retail till offline
Offline selling is switched on per business and till by a manager, with limits for each sale and shift. Once it is on, prepare your retail till shift while connected to the internet before going offline. The prepared shift can take retail sales offline for up to 12 hours. Reconnect to sync sales. Refunds, voids, credit sales and closing the shift need a connection.
These offline limits apply to the retail till only. Restaurant and pharmacy checkout do not have offline support, products tracked by batch or serial number are sold on the web till, and the rest of the app needs a connection. The full rules are in Mobile Retail POS and Offline Trading.
Protect the app with App Lock
Turn on optional App Lock in the app's settings to protect access with Face ID, fingerprint or your phone's passcode, as supported by your device. App Lock is separate from your SikaBooks password and 2FA code; keep those credentials private.
